“The Muramasa blade belongs to me and me alone... Leave, now... Or I will cut you down...”
—Majin Ryuunosuke before attacking Oboromaru
Majin Ryunosuke (魔神竜之介) is an enemy from The Infiltrator chapter. He is the spirit of a warrior that protects the Muramasa blade.
Strategy[]
Majin Ryunosuke is a very difficult boss. It is advised to be level 14 or higher before attempting to fight him. It is also recommended to have other party members such as the Prisoner or O-Robo as they can help with extra damage or tanking. Majin Ryunosuke has very high stats overall with an incredibly high HP and IQ stat. His attacks are strong and can cover a big part of the battlefield. Do not stand to his sides or he will use Violence Honed which deals extremely high damage. Keep your distance and use all of your strongest attacks like Shuriken Barrage or Death Blossom. Do not use any Fire, Water, Wind or Earth techniques as doing so will give him the Tech Limit 2 hidden status, locking him out of his first 2 moves and making him more likely to use In Silence Strike or Violence Honed. Heal when you need to, if you can defeat him, there is likely nothing you can't kill in this chapter.
Strategy #2: It is highly recommended to at the very least bring Mimic Mammet to this fight as it learns Fuma Shuriken at level 8, an essential ability for this fight. It would also be wise to keep some Izanagi scrolls handy to make things easier. Before fighting the Majin, make sure your party alignment has Mimic Mammet on the right and Oboromaru down to keep the maximum distance away from the Majin at the start of the fight. It's also recommended to give your best equipment to Mimic Mammet as it will be the main fighter. Oboromaru is there to assist removing the candles, giving you more space to fight.
Majin Ryunosuke has 4 techniques. Shattered Tranquility is the move the Majin will try to use the most and he has to get very close to activate the move. If he uses the move he has a chance of inflicting fear on himself. If you are below him, he will use Silence Strike which is an almost guaranteed one hit kill on a single target, however it loses it's power if there are two or more allies in its target range so use it to your advantage if you need to heal your allies. If you are two squares diagonal to him, he will use Half moon's light which has a high chance of inflicting sleep, however the Mimic Mammet is immune to the sleep status which makes surviving the move more likely. Finally he has the Violence Honed technique that he only activates if you are on the same or above row from him which also deals a lot of damage.
The first action you will want to do in the fight is immediately have Mimic Mammet use Fuma Shuriken as far up-left as possible so you can hit both the Majin and the candle. With Oboromaru, shift downwards and use Shuriken Barrage on the candle to the right of him. Then use Mimic Mammet to shift right and use Fuma Shuriken on the Majin. At this point, the Majin will slowly make his way over to Mimic Mammet but he won't be able to attack so shift Oboromaru to the left twice and shuriken barrage the bottom left candle. Majin Ryunosuke will prioritize using Shattered tranquility so he will not attack until he is right next to his target. Use this to your advantage to get away from him by moving to the bottom right corner and use Fuma Shuriken on him and the last candle on the upper right corner. Now you should have full control of the field. Move Oboromaru to the bottom left corner to keep him safe from the Majin. Mimic Mammet might get cornered by the Majin but if you have found some Izanagi scrolls, it shouldn't be too bad. If you feel he is getting too close for you to avoid his attacks in time, use the wait command until he is right next to you and then run to the opposite corner.
For the rest of the fight, you want to keep your distance away from the Majin as much as possible. Keep Oboromaru and the Mimic Mammet in the corners and use Fuma Shurikens. Whenever it is Oboromaru's turn, immediately pass to Mimic Mammet as again, it will be dealing the most damage to the Majin. If the Majin gets one square too close to either Oboromaru and Mimic Mammet, use the wait command until it moves again and then move to the opposite corner of the field. As a result, the Majin will once again move close to you as it will always prioritize using Shattered Tranquility, thus wasting it's active bar trying to do so.

Trivia[]
- Majin Means demon or Djinn in Japanese. It's likely the former here considering the connotations of the Muramasa sword being depicted as a cursed blade in many Japanese media. The counterpart of the Muramasa is the Masamune in other media.
