Hor Bishop is a character from the Distant Future chapter, The Mechanical Heart. He is the captain of the interstellar transport freighter Cogito Ergo Sum.

Appearance[]
Hor wears a lavender suit along with white boots and a green headband. He has brown hair and a beard. He is depicted with a black pipe.
Personality[]
Because the captain remains in his chambers for the majority of the chapter, not much is seen of him directly. What is seen of implies him to be an altogether competent, capable, and compassionate leader. According to Kato, Hor took pride in the level of care he displayed to the crew of the Cogito Egro Sum, believing it to be against base human instincts.

During The Mechanical Heart[]
As the captain of the Cogito Ergo Sum, Hor communicates with his crew via a monitor in the ship's recreation room, doing keeping inside his private quarters for most of the voyage. He led the crew onto the delivery mission to capture and bring the Behemoth back to earth per request of the military.
Hor is first seen during the morning briefing, addressing the crew and bearing witness to Cube. Sometime after the briefing, however, Hor was privately killed by the ship's central AI OD-10 within his own room. From there, OD-10 would impersonate Hor to the crew using spliced audio and visual logs in order to misdirect them. His body is later found by Cube, Kato and Darthe inside his room.
As noted in the debriefing, Hor's remains were secured following the Cogito Ergo Sum's return.
